Vendetta hotline calls were made against our family for over five years. Our six children were taken on three separate occasions and placed into Foster Care. Because we did not know what we did not know, we lost a lot of time taking our Dependency case all the way to the Supreme Court. By then years had passed, our oldest had graduated from high school. Systemic oppression is real!

In our case, the mother of my children took them from me, only to move them to Arizona and have them taken from her. As the father, I moved to Arizona with my mother for three years to get them back. The Juvenile court thought it was best to severe my rights and to adopt them out. You should know the Children are traumatized we they are indefinitely separated from their family and left alone. Parents, if you are not in a place to take care of your children, please allow them to be with family that will take care of them! Don’t risk your children being put in foster care or left alone in the system. I wish this playbook was available when I needed help!

As the grand parent, I moved from New York to rescue my grandchildren from DCS, I really struggled with moving to a new city, finding some place to live, and a place to work on the bus. After finding a place to live and work, DCS approved them for placement with me, only to later deny placement for some unknown reason. My granddaughters were adopted out by their foster family.
